10.APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

Apologies for absence were received from Councillors K Henderson, P Harrison and

I Schmeising-Barnes.

11.MINUTES

It was RESOLVED that the Minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on 10^thJuly 2023 be confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

12.DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

There were no declarations of interest.

13.ADOPTION OF A VOLUNTEERS POLICY

The Town Clerk advised Members that the Council may wish to consider adopting a Volunteers Policy due to the number of possible volunteering opportunities that may arise in the future. A discussion took place and it was resolved that the circulated draft Volunteer Policy and Procedures be recommended to Council for adoption.

Following a discussion, it was agreed that all Town Council staff should hold an enhanced DBS check.

14.NEW VOLUNTEER GROUP – PARKS AND OPEN GREEN SPACES

The Town Clerk reported that the Council had been approached by a volunteer group to help with enhancing the bio diversity on town council owned land, i.e. wildflower meadows, planting trees, bird boxes etc.

Members agreed that a volunteer group help the Council on green spaces owned by the town council and the Parks & Cemetery Superintendent would oversee the process by ensuring risk assessments were completed and adhered to and procedures were in place.

15.QUOTATION – RIVERSIDE DISABLED TOILETS

The quotation for the Riverside disabled toilets not been received and would be reported to the Council meeting on 3^rdOctober 2023 if received in time.
