Friday 11th April 2025

Calling all walking groups

On Friday 11th April 2025 we will be launching The Mayor’s 100 Miles for May Challenge with a "Blue Coffee" Morning at the Civic Centre.

We would like to invite your group to join the Mayor in walking 100 miles, between 11th April and 31st May, to help in raising money for Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven and Parkinson’s UK.  It will also be an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of your group and highlight your involvement within the community of Stourport-on-Severn.

To get the challenge started a walk led by Stourport Strollers, on Friday 11th April.  It’s then up to your group how the miles are walked – To reach you group goal of 100 miles 10 people could each walk 10 miles or 100 people could walk a mile.  It’s all about raising money for charity while doing something you enjoy.

You will already know the benefits of walking on your mental health; we are so very lucky to live in Worcestershire with its fantastic web of footpaths.  Did you know there is even a circular walk around our very own War Memorial Park?  We also thought it may be of interest to you a list of walks within the local area:

You may also have details of short walks around the local area that we could share with the walkers, who are joining us.

If you would like to join, please email annette.phillips@stourporttowncouncil.gov.uk

Saturday 12th April

Death on the Fairway - murder mystery dinner

It’s the Charity Golf Day; with everyone eagle-eyed and putting their best performance out on the course to win the competition.

Tensions have been rising ahead of the competition.  There’s no room for everyone on the A Team….… but who will end up wedged in the bunker?

The Mayor and Mayoresses of Stourport-on-Severn want to know if you can save the day by pulling together the clues to solve a case.

Join them at the Civic on Saturday 12th April, featuring actors from On the Floor Theatre Company, for an interactive and comedic evening of entertainment.

Arrival drinks: 7.00pm
Seated for dinner: 7.30pm
Carriages: 11.00pm (approx.)

Tickets cost £40.00 per person and are available by emailing: annette.phillips@stourporttowncouncil.gov.uk

If you are unable to attend but would like to make a donation, this would be very much appreciated.  As all monies raised are in aid of the Mayor of Stourport’s chosen charities Worcestershire Breast Haven Unit and Parkinsons UK.
