Stourport future

Stourport-on-Severn residents, business and visitor survey 2024 results

1249 responses to the survey were received. These will help to create the Stourport Future Vision document which will be published by Spring 2025. The quantitative results are summarised below. The almost 12,000 open ended responses received will be collated in a future report.

Survey results

The survey was open to anyone to complete. We asked people to tell us their age, residency and employment status to help us identify any trends within certain groups.

None of the questions were mandatory, so the number of total answers to each question differs depending on whether a respondent skipped the question or not.

These results do not include all of the open comments submitted. We can already see from the comments, that there appear to be three areas people most wanted improving:

  • Traffic is the biggest concern. They say that the British love to queue but we don’t!
  • We love our bridge but not our street! Developing Bridge Street featured highly along with the town’s poor appearance in general.
  • The sense of community in the town and the reduction in anti-social behaviour.

At least 60% of respondents answered the majority of open ended questions. At least 54% of people commented on business related issues and 49% offered suggestions on how to improve safety and sustainability.

Percentage responses have been rounded to the nearest whole number.

The next thing to find out was what people were coming into the town centre to do. People could chose as many options as they wanted from the list and all but 23 people answered. The most popular option was to shop with eating and drinking coming in second. The least popular option was studying – perhaps because most educational establishments are seen as being out of the town centre area.
