18. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

Apologies for absence were received from Councillor J Thomas. Councillor R Lloyd was appointed as a substitute for Councillor J Thomas.

19. MINUTES

It was RESOLVED that the Minutes of the Meeting of the Committee held on the 2nd September 2020 be confirmed as a correct record, and signed by the Chairman.

20. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

There were no declarations of interest.

21. REPORT FROM THE TREASURER ON BUDGET MONITORING – HALF YEAR POSITION

Members received a report from the Treasurer which gave information on the actual expenditure and income for the six months up to 30th September 2020. The Town Clerk took Members through the report and reported that at the current point, there was an underspend of £11,000 but in the current climate, things could change in the next six months.

A discussion was held and it was perceived that the twinning between Stourport-on-Severn and Villeneuve-le-Roi was 50 years old in 2021 and if this was the case then dignitaries from Villenueve-le-Roi being invited as guests to Stourport Carnival. If this was the case, the budget be increased to £3,600. The Town Clerk would check the details and report back.

22. OFFICE RENT FOR CIVIC CENTRE TENANTS

Members held a discussion on current tenants on the first floor at the Civic Centre and it was pleasing to note that they were all up to date with rent payments during the current pandemic. However, as a gesture of goodwill and the loyalty they had shown since March 2020, it was agreed that a 10% reduction for December 2020 – March 2021 would be applied.
